Construction Project

On December 20, 2021, Core Construction began an eight month, $8 million capital improvement project at East Washington Academy. The main goal of the renovation is to update this "open concept" building, converting it into a more intimate, secure environment by adding walls and doors that will provide a better learning atmosphere for students and teachers. There were also upgrades made to the HVAC and security systems. Funding for this project came from the federal CARES Act and the Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.

The building opened on time for the 2022-23 school year on Aug. 9, 2022 and was a big hit with staff, teachers and families. From the new carpet to the improved lighting, EWA became transformed into a more exciting place to learn and grow. Below are a few photos of the updated interior.
